"Yael is one of the best improv teachers I've ever had, including my time taking classes at Upright Citizens Brigade, Los Angeles! She makes every class so incredibly fun, while also providing constructive feedback to help everyone improve at their craft. My class was filled with many different ages, spanning from pre-teens to seniors. It can sometimes be difficult to teach improv to so many different ages, especially since one aspect of improv is shared experiences - luckily Yael's specialty is finding the commonality within us all!"

"Yael Schy led an intergenerational improv class daily at a week-long music camp I attended. At age 65, I was not new to improv as I had taken quite few classes with other seniors. Doing improv with Yael and a group that spanned 60 years, which included teens, 20 y/o's and most decades in between was the highlight of my day. Yael is an energetic creative person who strikes the right balance of clearly introducing games and then letting us jump in and play. Her respectful treatment of young and older was nicely modeled. It was so much more fun and enriching to have improv activities with the broad range of ages. It opened up new ways to be creative as well as provide a space to be comfortable with a greater variety of people. This was all very transferable out into the world. Thank you Yael!"

"It was a great honor to be in the first intergenerational improv class [at BATS] with Yael Schy and Gary Ware. I have been improvising for over 10 years and teaching it too, but I found Yael’s style refreshing and learned so much from being in this cross-generational group. Not only did we do improv together, but Yael and Gary ensured that we had intergenerational dialogue as well. Yael guided me to “embrace my mistakes as gifts” and listen carefully to my scene partners. After a few weeks of this class, I feel more relaxed on stage and readier than ever to try new things! Even though we were all online, Yael and Gary created a beautiful community and we all felt very bonded after it. And the carefully curated show at the end left me with a deep sense of accomplishment! I’d give this class my highest recommendation!"

I am so blessed to be at Zoomers to Boomers Improv sessions 💜 🪴I have been with them since a long time and we have become a family ! 🪴 I have learnt to be myself, that its okay to make mistakes, and not to be too serious in life! Gary and Yael bring amazing games to the session - which helps me cope with life situations ! I am able to understand different people's different perspectives! I am just in love with these classes and I always look forward to the next session ❤️ Thanks Yael & Gary for this wonderful opportunity 🐿️ I love you guys 😘
Yael and Gary have created a very unique experience for people of any generation, from all over the world! In this very lively class, students get to explore and develop creativity and quick thinking in a supportive environment, learning the basics of improv which are really positive and fun - like, say yes to everything! It is such a fantastic class to meet and connect with many different people, have a lot of laughs and improve improv skills!
I highly recommend this improv group with two thoughtful and imaginative inventive leaders. This group works well with others: A world of wit, quick responses, rubber faces, creative active minds, stretched vocabulary, mirrored moving, athletic brain games... join in! You have every skill necessary to participate. Seek laughter and happiness and you may find it!
This was the first time I got to play in Zoomers to Boomers Improv. Two of my teenagers have also participated in the class, and have had an incredible experience with it. ZBI has been great to offer a safe way (even during the shutdown!) to have real interactions with other people from all over the globe of a huge span of generations, and to add some comic relief to your life during crazy times. Gary and Yael are both fabulous teachers, and the space has been really warm and inviting for all ages, and kinds of diversity. I'm glad to have had the opportunity to play! Thanks SO much! It was a pleasure to just be... and to always say YES! 🥰🥰🥰🌈
This is an amazing online group- so safe and so playful- if you think you might like to expand your ability to express yourself, or break out of rigid properness, experiment with what you say or do, or how… check this group out! Plus, it’s all ages- my group includes 7 decades- from teens to the 70’s, men and women and non- binary and all over the world. They have 8 week classes, day-long improv training, and they’re just great. Fees, yes, which can slide if needed. It's a great place to learn to be flexible and keep the ball moving forward, in conversations, life, play, work, etc.
I have really enjoyed being a part of Zoomers to Boomers Improv. Yael and Gary have created an online class where people of different ages and from different countries and time zones can play improv games and have conversations and say “yes and.” I learned to celebrate when I mess up, instead of berating myself, since “there are no mistakes in improv.” There is a scholarship fund that people can donate to, and no one is turned away for lack of funds. This class has really helped me during the pandemic as I am in a high risk group and was home alone for 668 days. Thank you Yael Schy and Gary Ware! I appreciate you 💕
I highly recommend this class ... which I just finished taking for the first time! You'll learn a lot ... about improvisation, about other generations, about other cultures, about other individuals ... and about yourself! The two teacher/facilitators, Yael and Gary, have done an amazing job of figuring out how to make this work on Zoom -- modifying familiar improv exercises, creating new ones, and generally making it seem like Zoom Improv classes must have been around since forever. Besides the wide variety of ages and cultures represented, you'll also meet everyone from very experienced improvisors to absolute beginners. Yael and Gary have figured out how to make *this* work too! Oh! And do I even need to mention that it's FUN?
